Photoshop Shortcuts

Workflow is and should be top priority for any professional graphic designer. If you don’t know your shortcuts, then learn ‘em. It bugs the fire out of me to watch newbie designers clicking all over the screen for tools/dialog boxes and their left hand just sits there and does nothing (nothing against newbies…you gotta start somewhere…it’s the effort put forth). You’ve got two hands for a reason, so make the most of ‘em. It takes some time and you may find yourself forgetting a few here and there. All you can do is make a concentrated effort. I started by finding the tool/dialog box in its fixed location, and there’s almost always a command listed to the right (for tools in the tool palette, hover over the tool and wait for the yellow box to pop up and in parentheses will be the letter to punch to get that tool). However, I wouldn’t click on the tool/dialog box. I’d make myself type the command. Before I knew it, I couldn’t even remember where those tools were and was typing the shortcut key before I had time to even start looking. Making a reference list, and putting it on your computer/desk helps too.

Check out this useful list of Photoshop shortcuts. I even found a few I didn’t know of.

Enjoy!
