Something’s in the air

UPDATE: Okay…after much more looking, I’m really not getting this—literally and logically. Apple has stripped its laptop of almost all features (slower processor, smaller hard drive, no optical drive, less ports) all for the sake of keeping it thin. Seems to me they would’ve done better to sacrifice a little more bulk for the sake of keeping all of these features. Also, I’m not seeing the reasoning between the EXTREME difference in price in the two models. Perhaps someone can enlighten me. Overall, I’m sad to say, I’m a little dissapointed now. Oh well, hopefully a little bit thicker macbook pro version is on its way and we’ll have more to discuss at a later date.
UPDATE: At first thought the 13″ display was a downer, but if you work with a second display at home/work, this seems to be a pretty awesome portable solution. I very rarely do ‘intensive’ design work outside of the home/office.
I’m also still torn on the ‘optical drive’ deal, but again, if you have another machine at home/work that you can pair with, this seems to not present an issue. Plus with the availability of external HDs, I hardly ever have to burn an actual disk.
That’s for sure. Apple’s done it again. The thinnest notebook ever.
Check out the new Macbook Air.
I need to get me one of these.
